Meet Larry

Greetings! During my first term as a School Committee Member, I have shared in the many successes and achievements experienced in LPS. Our district is one of the best in the Commonwealth! Our students, teachers, and entire community embrace academic excellence and demonstrate how great a public education can be. We all contribute in very intentional ways, resulting in a district which I am proud to represent as a parent of an LPS student, and as a School Committee Member.

Just as I have seen first-hand the triumphs and achievements, I also recognize the areas that require more attention and consideration. This makes me especially motivated to run for re-election. As I near the end of my first term, the things I have learned make me better equipped to bring attention to the need for equitable and inclusive curricula, which are essential to maintaining the academic excellence of our entire school system. I will continue to focus on the overwhelming need for the school experience to include the mental health and social growth of every student as well as reducing the academic achievement gap that continues to exist. While we are doing better, we still have a lot of work to do.

I am amazed that the Town of Lexington is managed by committed and talented community volunteers (supported by excellent town staff). With that realization, I take my personal commitment to the Town of Lexington and to Lexington Public Schools very seriously. I believe that working collectively and collaboratively we can overcome any challenge.

As a parent, volunteering on school-focused and town-wide committees, and a professional working in finance and technology, I am uniquely positioned to make meaningful contributions to ongoing discussions of school policies and budgets. I bring an equity and inclusion lens to our schools, an increased focus on the mental and social health of students, and a positive impact on the planning and development of a new Lexington High School building. I have the experience, professional training, and skills to bring a systematic approach to problem solving, a listen-and-learn mentality, and a collaborative approach to my work in Lexington. I look forward to serving the town a second term as a member of the School Committee.

I believe that our ability to deal with challenges is strengthened when we are transparent about successes and failures. Please see What Matters to learn more about the ‘why’ and ‘what’ of my re-election campaign to the Lexington School Committee.

Your support is critically important to me! I am happy to answer your questions; please feel free to contact me anytime.

Thank you!
