Town Election Voting Information

Lexington will hold its annual town election on MONDAY, March 3. You can vote by mail before Election Day or in person on March 3.

Are you registered to vote?

In order to vote in the election, you must be a Lexington resident and registered to vote by Friday, February 21 at 5pm.

IF YOU WANT TO VOTE BY MAIL

Apply for a mail ballot

Postcard reminders will not be sent by the State this year. Voters should plan to request a ballot by mail as early as possible.

You can apply for a mail-in ballot:

If you are using a mail-in application, fill out and sign (important) the application. You must return the application by Monday, February 25 at 5pm in order to qualify for a mail ballot.

To return the mail-in application:

  • Deposit it in the Town Clerk’s blue box in the Cary Memorial Building circular driveway next to the Town Office Building, 1625 Mass. Ave.
  • Drop it off at or mail it to:

    1625 Massachusetts Ave.
    Lexington, MA 02420

The town will start mailing out ballots in early February. If you do not receive your ballot, contact the Town Clerk’s Office.

Returning your ballot

The clerk’s office must receive your ballot no later than 8pm on Election Day, Monday March 3. We advise that you return it as soon as possible after you get it.

You can return your ballot in the following ways:

  • Deposit it in the Town Clerk’s blue box in the Cary Memorial Building circular driveway next to the Town Office Building, 1625 Mass. Ave.
  • Drop it off at or mail it to:

Once the clerk’s office has received your ballot, you cannot vote in person.

IF YOU WANT TO VOTE IN PERSON

There will be no in-person early voting for the town election. If you wish to vote in-person, you must vote on Election Day, Monday March 3.

Election Day Voting

Lexington polls will be open on Monday, March 3 from 7am - 8pm for in-person voting. If you are inside and in line at 8pm, you will be allowed to vote.

Please note that several polling locations have changed recently.

  • Precincts 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, and 7: Cary Memorial Building, 1605 Massachusetts Ave
  • Precincts 3 and 9: Lexington Community Center, 39 Marrett Rd
  • Precinct 8: Samuel Hadley Public Services Building, 201 Bedford St
